Daisy Jones & The Six – Book Club Questions

Welcome to the Buddy Book Club – we have a light-hearted comedic podcast that covers a variety of books. Daisy Jones & The Six by Taylor Jenkin Reid happens to be one of our favorites. You can catch the podcast here, if you’re interested or check out our Make it A Movie article on Daisy Jones & The Six here.

Our book club questions try to be a little more outside the box/comedic than your typical book club questions – hopefully you enjoy them.

Book Club Questions – Daisy Jones & The Six

-> One of the main reasons the band broke up was because of artistic integrity… What amount of money would make you ‘sell out’ and trade in your artistic inspirations?

For me to just tour the country, make a lot of money, and do something I love (play music), seems like selling my soul to ‘the man’ would be a small price to pay.

-> Do you think Eddie is a huge creep/one of the worst characters in the book or someone that was making some decent points?

Big debate about this one, especially who was right during the ‘borrowing’ guitar meltdown. Maybe he was just a cancerous malcontent, maybe he was the only one willing to call Billy on his shit.

-> If you were a famous artist, what would be in your rider?

Here is a list of some famous celebrity riders for inspiration.

-> Was Camille an inconsiderate roommate? The band asks her to help chip in and clean – she refuses. Also, she just throws out burger meat and insists everyone eats what she wants?

Camille is the most important non-band member, and she was really Billy’s rock. But at times does she comes off as a bit insufferable, no?

-> Billy writes a number of love songs for Camille that helped foster and solidify their relationship. What are the best love songs ever written?

Another way to word this, is what is the best first dance wedding songs. Shout out to Sara Bareilles who wrote the best anti-‘love song’, love song. But we’d go with Aerosmth – I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing and Eddie Sheeran – Perfect.

-> Who would you want playing the characters in a movie?

Need some inspiration? We got you covered.

-> Did you relate with any character? Billy and Daisy both had traits that didn’t lend themselves to sympathy.

What was great about this book is that every character had his/her flaws, no one was the ‘hero’ or perfect.

-> How does this rank compared to other Taylor Jenkins Reid Books?

We’re reading the Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo now, one thing is for certain TJR is an unreal writer, can’t wait to see what she writes next.
